Reddit member biophilia curiosis of Operation Wallacea found this Indonesian Dragon specimen in Buton, Indonesia.

While participating in a herpetology study we stumbled across this female laying eggs in a nest. She was found in the Lambsuango Forest reserve and was immediately released after this photograph was taken.

While not your dragon of myth and legend, this miniature dragon does give you pause to think this might be how those legends started. Another image of the Indonesian dragon is below, this time without the impressive wingspan.
