Pelican and Cat – It’s Not What it Looks Like
Animals, Science — By BB Admin on June 22, 2011 4:55 pmTo the naked eye, it looks like this pelican is trying to eat this cat:
When really, the pelican is trying to save the cat from an advancing scooter. Things aren’t always what they appear, people. Pelicans don’t eat cats. They eat fish. shellfish, amphibians, and other birds. Nothing with fur. They are anti-fur, pelicans. They are also sort of holy. At least, they were in medieval times (the actual times, not the awesome themed restaurant). The pelican was used as a symbol for the Passion of Jesus because pelicans were thought to be super-attentive to their babies, and if they weren’t super-attentive they killed their babies, but resurrected said babies with their own blood, much like…oh never mind. The medieval times people were bizarre. Also, the pelican is the state bird of Louisiana, because they have them there on account of its proximity to the Gulf of Mexico.
Thanks to alice_in_a_maze on altnation for letting this out to the world.
